Winter calls for rich reds, whites and evergreen foliage, plus festive designs around Christmas. Browse our Christmas and Seasonal Special collections for the season's best.
Flower Care & Freshness
How fresh are your flowers?
Very. We buy fresh regularly and hand-tie every bouquet on the day it's delivered or collected — never pre-made or stored for days. That's why same-day orders close at 5:30 PM, so there's time to arrange them fresh.
Are your bouquets made to order?
Yes. Nothing is pre-made. Each bouquet is hand-tied to order by our florists in Northampton on the day, so it arrives at its freshest and matches the design you chose.
Why do lilies sometimes arrive as closed buds?
Lilies are often sent in bud so they open gradually and last longer in the recipient's home. Within a few days they'll bloom fully. Keep them in fresh water and out of direct heat to enjoy the full display.
Are lilies safe around cats?
No — lilies are toxic to cats. If the recipient has cats, choose from our large Lily-Free range, which has over 80 designs with no lilies at all. Just look for the Lily-Free collection at blossomsurprise.co.uk.
Do you provide flower food with bouquets?
Yes, where appropriate we include flower food. For best results, use it in clean water, trim the stems on arrival, and top up or change the water every couple of days.
How should I display a box arrangement?
A box arrangement is ready to go — just set it on a flat surface out of direct sun and heat, and top up its water source every couple of days. No vase or arranging needed.
Ordering & Delivery Help
How do I change the delivery address after ordering?
Contact us as soon as possible via blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact with your order number. If the bouquet hasn't been dispatched, we can usually update the address — the earlier you reach us, the better.
Can I cancel or amend my flower order?
Contact us right away with your order number. We can usually amend or cancel before your bouquet is made or dispatched. Once it's out for delivery, changes aren't possible, so reach out early.
Will the recipient see how much I paid?
No. We never include a price, receipt or invoice with the bouquet — only your personal message card. The cost stays between us and you.
What happens if the recipient isn't home for a local delivery?
Our driver will try to leave the flowers in a safe place or with a trusted neighbour, and let the recipient know. Adding a contact number for the recipient at checkout helps us complete the delivery smoothly.
Can you leave the flowers with a neighbour?
Yes, where it's sensible to do so. Add any safe-place or neighbour instructions in the order notes and our driver will follow them for local deliveries. For DPD courier orders, the recipient can manage this via the tracking link.
Do you send a photo of the finished bouquet?
We don't send a photo as standard, but if you'd like one, ask in the order notes and we'll do our best. Every bouquet is hand-tied fresh, so it'll closely match the design you ordered.
Do I get an order confirmation?
Yes. You'll receive an email confirmation as soon as your order is placed. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder or contact us via blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact and we'll confirm.
Can I order if I don't know the recipient's full address?
We need the full delivery address to guarantee delivery. If you're missing details, add the recipient's phone number in the notes so we can confirm, or check with them before ordering.
Can I send flowers to more than one address?
Each order goes to one delivery address. To send to several people, simply place a separate order for each address — and contact us if you're sending in bulk so we can help.
What if I chose the wrong delivery date?
Contact us straight away with your order number. If the bouquet hasn't been made or dispatched, we can usually change the date. The sooner you tell us, the easier it is to fix.
How do I know my order went through?
You'll get an email confirmation immediately after ordering. If you didn't receive one, check your spam folder, then contact us via blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact and we'll check it for you.
Do you take last-minute orders?
Yes. For same-day local delivery to NN and MK postcodes, you can order as late as 5:30 PM. For next-day UK delivery, order by 3:00 PM on a weekday.
Can I order flowers from abroad for someone in the UK?
Yes. You can order online from anywhere in the world and we'll deliver to your recipient's UK mainland address — same-day to NN and MK postcodes, next-day via DPD elsewhere. Payment is taken in GBP.
Why Blossom Surprise
Why are florist flowers better than supermarket flowers?
Supermarket flowers are mass-packed days in advance. Ours are hand-tied fresh to order by trained florists on the day of delivery, so they're fresher, last longer and look far more impressive.
What makes you different from big online flower companies?
We're a real local florist, not a relay or warehouse service. Every bouquet is made by our own florists in Northampton and delivered by our own team locally — no flat-packed boxes, no third-party handoff, no hidden relay fees.
Do you charge a service or relay fee?
No. Unlike relay networks that add booking or service fees, you pay for your bouquet plus any applicable delivery charge — nothing hidden. Local delivery within 15 miles and click & collect are free.
Is it better to buy from a local florist?
For freshness and quality, yes. A local florist arranges your flowers by hand on the day and delivers them directly, so they arrive in peak condition — and you're supporting an independent Northampton business.
Are you an independent, local Northampton florist?
Yes. We're an independent florist based in Northampton, hand-tying every bouquet in our own studio and delivering across NN and MK postcodes with our own team. A genuine local business, not a national chain.

How can I contact customer service?
You can reach us through the contact page at blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact. For urgent orders or same-day enquiries, getting in touch as early as possible in the day gives us the best chance to help.
How long will my flowers last?
Because every bouquet is hand-tied fresh on the day, you can expect roughly 5–7 days, often longer with good care. Trim the stems, change the water every couple of days, and keep them out of direct sun and away from fruit.
How do I care for my flowers to make them last longer?
Trim 2–3 cm off the stems at an angle, use clean water with the flower food provided, top up or change the water every two days, and keep the bouquet away from direct sunlight, heat and ripening fruit.
What if my flowers arrive damaged or not as expected?
Get in touch with us straight away via blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact, ideally with a photo. We take quality seriously and will put it right. The sooner you tell us, the faster we can help.
What happens if a flower is out of stock — do you substitute?
Because we work with fresh seasonal flowers, occasionally a bloom isn't available. When that happens our florists substitute with something of equal or greater value in a similar style and colour, so the bouquet always looks its best.
Can I include a personal message card with my flowers?
Yes. Add your message at checkout and we'll include a complimentary card with your bouquet. Take your time with the wording — a personal note makes all the difference.
Can I order flowers for a future date?
Yes. Choose your preferred delivery date at checkout and we'll arrange and deliver the flowers fresh on that day. Booking ahead is wise for busy dates like Valentine's and Mother's Day.
Can I order flowers over the phone?
The quickest way is to order online at blossomsurprise.co.uk, but if you need help — a bespoke design, a large order or a tricky delivery — contact us via blossomsurprise.co.uk/pages/contact and we'll assist.
Are you a real local florist or an online relay service?
We're a genuine independent florist with our own studio in Northampton. Every bouquet is hand-tied here by our own florists and delivered by our own team locally — not passed to a third party or assembled in a warehouse.
Do you offer bulk or event flowers for weddings and corporate occasions?
We don't run trade or wholesale accounts, but we're happy to take on larger orders for weddings, funerals, corporate events and celebrations. Contact us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Why should I choose Blossom Surprise for flower delivery in Northampton?
Hand-tied fresh daily in our Northampton studio, same-day delivery seven days a week (order by 5:30 PM), free local delivery within 15 miles, free 24/7 click & collect, and next-day DPD across the UK. A real local florist, not a relay service.
Can I send flowers for someone arriving at a hotel?
Yes. We can deliver to a hotel within our same-day zone — add the guest's full name, the booking and the hotel's details in the notes, and check the hotel will accept and hold the delivery.
Can I order flowers to welcome someone home?
Yes. A box arrangement is perfect for a 'welcome home' surprise as it needs no vase. Add safe-place instructions if no one will be in, and order by 5:30 PM for same-day local delivery.
What's a good gift if I'm not sure what flowers they like?
A mixed seasonal bouquet from our Best Selling or Trending Now range is a safe, well-loved choice. Our florists balance colour and variety so it suits almost anyone. Add chocolates if you'd like to be sure.
Do you do flowers for an apology or to say sorry to a partner?
Yes. Keep it sincere rather than flashy — soft roses or a gentle mixed bouquet with a heartfelt message card. Our Romantic and Thank You ranges have suitable designs, with same-day local delivery available.
What are your most popular bouquets?
Our Best Selling and Trending Now collections show what customers order most — a mix of roses, romantic designs and bright seasonal bouquets. They're a great starting point if you're unsure what to choose.
Do you deliver flowers every day of the year?
We deliver seven days a week, including weekends and Bank Holidays. The only exception is a small number of major closure days each year — order ahead around Christmas and other peak dates to be sure.
Can I set up regular or weekly flower deliveries?
We don't run an automated subscription, but you're welcome to place repeat orders, or contact us to arrange regular deliveries for a home or business. We'll help set up a schedule that suits you.
Do you do flowers for businesses or events on a regular basis?
Yes. We can supply regular flowers for offices, restaurants and venues, as well as one-off event flowers for weddings, funerals and celebrations. Contact us to discuss your needs and timing.
How do I find your flower shop in Northampton?
We're a studio florist in Northampton where all our bouquets are hand-tied. The easiest way to order is online at blossomsurprise.co.uk with free 24/7 click & collect, or contact us via the contact page for directions.
Do you offer gift cards or vouchers?
