Crimson Luxe - Red Rose and Pink Spray Rose Box Bouquet

A Bouquet That Arrives as a Gift
Most bouquets need something. A vase. Scissors. Five minutes of arranging at the kitchen sink. Crimson Luxe does not. This arrangement is hand-tied in our Northampton studio and presented standing upright in a luxury red gift box, wrapped in our blush pink marble and gold paper collar. It arrives looking exactly as it does in the photographs -full, generous, and ready to go straight onto a table or sideboard.
The flowers are a deep, rich mix: full-headed crimson roses at the front and throughout, pink spray rose clusters that add softness and movement, dark burgundy chrysanthemums that give the arrangement real depth, and cerise carnations that punch through the darker tones with colour. White gypsophila fills the spaces between every bloom, and flat green fern and eucalyptus anchor the whole composition underneath.
What Is in This Bouquet
- Deep red roses - large, full-headed crimson blooms with tight spiral centres, selected for head size and stem strength
- Pink spray roses - smaller multi-headed stems in soft pink that add scale variation and a gentle contrast to the deeper reds
- Burgundy chrysanthemums - rich, dark pompon heads that add texture and depth to the lower and mid sections of the arrangement
- Cerise carnations - frilly-edged blooms in a vivid cerise-pink that bridge the red and pink tones throughout
- White gypsophila - generous clouds of fine white flowers that soften and fill between the larger blooms
- Flat green fern and eucalyptus - structured foliage that frames and supports the arrangement from the base upward
- Luxury red gift box - the bouquet stands upright inside, wrapped in blush pink marble and gold paper; no vase or additional packaging needed
The Box Bouquet Arrangement
A box bouquet is one of the most considered ways to send flowers. The stems sit in water inside the box, so the flowers are drinking from the moment they leave our studio to the moment they arrive at the door. The recipient does not need to find a vase, cut stems, or rearrange anything. They simply receive a finished piece - and the box itself is part of the presentation.
Crimson Luxe is particularly well suited to recipients who live alone, are recovering from illness, or are in a setting where a vase is not immediately to hand.

Caring for Your Box Bouquet
- The stems are already in water when the box arrives - top up the water inside the box every two days to keep them drinking
- Keep the box away from direct sunlight, radiators, and draughts
- If you wish to transfer the flowers to a vase after a few days, re-trim each stem 2 cm at a diagonal angle before placing in fresh water
- Remove individual blooms as they fade - spray roses and carnations will often outlast the larger rose heads by several days
- White gypsophila dries beautifully in place - it does not need to be removed as the fresher stems fade around it
- Red roses and pink spray roses typically look their best for 6 to 9 days; chrysanthemums and carnations often hold for 10 to 14 days

Keep Your Flowers Fresh Longer
Your beautiful Northampton flower delivery deserves expert care. Follow our local florist's proven tips to enjoy vibrant blooms for up to two weeks.
Immediate Care (First Hour)
Unpack promptly – Remove your flowers from packaging within 1 hour of delivery to prevent overheating.
Trim stems at an angle – Cut 2-3cm off each stem at a 45° angle using sharp scissors or secateurs. This increases water absorption.
Remove lower leaves – Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
Use clean water – Fill your vase with fresh, cool tap water. Add the flower food sachet provided with your bouquet.
Daily Maintenance
Change water every 2 days – Fresh water prevents bacteria that shorten flower life. Rinse the vase thoroughly.
Re-cut stems – Trim another 1cm off stems each time you change the water.
Remove wilted blooms – Take out any dying flowers to keep the arrangement looking fresh and prevent bacteria spread.
Top up water daily – Flowers drink a lot, especially in the first few days.
Ideal Placement
Cool location – Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, radiators, and heating vents. Cooler temperatures (16-18°C) extend vase life.
Avoid fruit bowls – Ripening fruit releases ethylene gas which causes flowers to age faster.
Skip draughty spots – Avoid windowsills and doorways where temperature fluctuates.
Special Flower Types
Roses – Remove guard petals (outer petals) if damaged. Roses can last 7-12 days with proper care.
Lilies – Remove orange pollen stamens to prevent staining and extend bloom life. Lilies can last up to 2 weeks.
Tulips – These continue growing in the vase. Use less water (5-7cm) and keep very cool.
Sunflowers – Change water frequently as stems can become slimy. These bold blooms last 7-10 days.
Chrysanthemums – Hardy flowers that can last 2-3 weeks. Break stems rather than cutting for best results.
Troubleshooting
Drooping heads? Re-cut stems and place in deep, cool water for 2 hours to revive.
Cloudy water? Sign of bacteria. Change immediately and clean vase with diluted bleach.
Petals browning? Remove affected flowers and ensure vase isn't in direct heat or sunlight.
Expert Tip from Your Local Northampton Florist
Add a drop of bleach or vodka to your vase water (1 teaspoon per litre) as a natural antibacterial. This simple trick can add 3-4 extra days to your flower's vase life. At Blossom Surprise, we've been caring for Northampton's flowers since day one – these techniques really work!
