Why Choose Blossom Surprise for Your Wedding Flowers
Made Locally in Northampton
Every bouquet is made in our Northampton studio, not packed in a warehouse and posted across the country. You are working directly with local florists who know the flowers they are handling and take time with each arrangement. If you are based in Northamptonshire or the surrounding areas, you can collect in person or arrange local delivery.
Fresh Flowers, Not Pre-Made
We do not keep pre-assembled wedding bouquets on a shelf. Each bridal bouquet is made fresh to your order, which means the flowers arrive at their best on your wedding day. We source our stems carefully and condition them before assembly so they hold through long days and warm rooms.
A Florist You Can Actually Speak To
Wedding flowers involve decisions, changes, and sometimes last-minute requests. We are available to discuss your order directly. You are not filling out a web form and waiting. You are talking to the people who will be making your flowers.
Free Click-and-Collect, 24 Hours a Day
Our Northampton shop is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for free click-and-collect. If you need to collect early on a wedding morning, that option is available to you. No added charges, no restricted collection windows.
What to Expect from Our Bridal Bouquets
We work with a wide range of flowers depending on the season and your brief. In spring, you will find peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, and sweet peas that suit softer, romantic arrangements. Summer brings dahlias, lisianthus, and an abundance of rose varieties. Autumn lends itself to deeper tones: burgundy roses, chrysanthemums, and textured foliage. Winter arrangements often centre on white blooms, berries, and architectural greenery.
If you have a specific colour palette in mind, share it with us and we will work to match it as closely as the season allows. If you are undecided, we can advise on what is naturally available around your wedding date and what tends to look best on camera.
Our bouquets are finished by hand with ribbon, twine, or wrapped stems depending on your preference. We do not add foam structures or artificial fillers.
Bridal Bouquet Styles We Create
Hand-Tied Bouquet
The most popular style for modern weddings. Stems are gathered by hand and bound at a natural point, creating a rounded, full bouquet that sits comfortably and photographs beautifully from every angle. Works across almost all flower types and colour palettes.
Posy Bouquet
Compact and structured, the posy is tighter than a hand-tied arrangement. It suits bridesmaids, flower girls, or brides who prefer a smaller bouquet that does not compete visually with the dress. Easy to hold throughout a long day.
Cascade Bouquet
A cascade trails downward from the hand in a teardrop or waterfall shape. It creates strong visual impact and suits more formal or traditional ceremonies. We typically build cascades using roses, orchids, trailing ivy, or stephanotis depending on your brief.
Loose Meadow Style
For weddings with a relaxed, garden party or outdoor feel. Stems are gathered more freely, often incorporating foliage, wildflower varieties, and seasonal blooms. The look is intentionally informal and works well in natural light settings.
Structured Single-Flower Bouquet
A single flower variety, often roses or calla lilies, arranged tightly for a clean, contemporary look. Strong on imagery and works particularly well with minimalist dress styles.
Bridesmaid and Wedding Party Flowers
We can create matching or complementary arrangements for your entire wedding party. Bridesmaid posies, flower girl baskets, buttonholes for groomsmen, and corsages for family members can all be ordered alongside your bridal bouquet. Ordering everything together ensures the flowers work as a consistent set on the day.
Our romantic flower bouquets collection is a good starting point if you are exploring styles, and our rose bouquets are among the most requested for weddings. If you want to see what our arrangements look like at full scale, the best-selling collection shows a cross-section of our most popular work.
Delivery and Collection for Wedding Flowers
We deliver locally across Northampton and the surrounding NN postcodes, as well as into Milton Keynes MK postcodes. Same-day local delivery is available on orders placed before 5:30 PM, with delivery between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, seven days a week.
For wedding orders, we recommend arranging collection or delivery the morning of the wedding or the evening before, depending on your setup and storage. Our team can advise on timing when you place your order.
Click-and-collect from our Northampton studio is always free and available 24 hours a day. If you need an early morning collection before the ceremony, that is not a problem.
If you are based further afield, we offer next-day UK courier delivery on selected arrangements. Speak to us directly if you have specific delivery requirements for your wedding day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I order my bridal bouquet?
For wedding flowers, we recommend ordering at least one week in advance where possible. This gives us time to source your specific flowers, especially if you have particular varieties or colours in mind. For peak wedding months (May through September), earlier is better. That said, if you have a short lead time, contact us directly and we will do what we can.
Can I request specific flowers or colours?
Yes. When you place your order, you can tell us your preferred flowers, colour palette, and overall style. We will confirm what is available for your date and suggest alternatives if anything is out of season. We do not substitute without telling you first.
Do you make buttonholes and bridesmaid flowers to match?
Yes. We can put together a full set of wedding party flowers, including bridesmaid posies, buttonholes, corsages, and flower girl arrangements, all designed to sit together as a cohesive set. Order everything together so we can match the flowers across all pieces.
How do I keep the bouquet fresh on the morning of the wedding?
Store the bouquet in a cool room away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Keep the stems in water if the bouquet is stem-wrapped. On the wedding morning, remove it from the water about an hour before the ceremony and gently pat the stems dry. Avoid leaving it in a warm car for extended periods.
Can I collect my bridal bouquet on the morning of the wedding?
Yes. Our Northampton studio is open 24 hours a day for click-and-collect, so you can collect at any time that suits your schedule. Early morning collection before a ceremony is something we accommodate regularly. There is no charge for click-and-collect.
